Pokororo PVH

Post by Johnno » Fri Feb 22, 2019 7:55 am

Passion Vine Hopper or PVH.

Fairly important terrestrial to imitate in these ‘ere parts this time of year. ( or would be if the water cooled down enough to fish....) Breezy afternoons will see fish cruising backwaters and the edges sipping the wind blown unfortunates. I’ve never really liked the traditional pheasant or Partridge rump wing; it’s not translucent enough and too dark.

The Pokororo PVH. This is one that’s evolved over the past few years.. the wing is still being worked on with a few other materials being tinkered with but this one does alright.

Greys and tans. It looks a lot lighter but I tie flies to look right when wet; it’s a bit darker in the wing and closer to colour on the water. It’s

Fished solo or with a bigger easier to see dry 8 odd inches up..
