Ray Bergman, in the early to middle part of last century was probably the most influential fisherman and angling author in the USA. His home waters were in the Catskills and he spent much of his time fishing there and further afield. His book “Trout” is an absolute classic no matter where in the world you live. He preferred to fish dry flies, ( I like his dries and his are on the list of my next project once I’m done with streamers.....) but he also developed and fished nymphs, wets and streamers. The Gray Squirrel Streamer was created in 1933 and is a great fish taker.
